ABOUT ME

Come as you are.
I provide counseling services to adolescents and adults. While I specialize in trauma and mood disorders, I feel strongly about providing a non-cookie cutter experience that is authentic and empathic. I want to help you with issues in your everyday life and find out what your strengths are. I utilize integrative therapies, customized to you and your needs as we know mental health and overall wellness is complex and not a one-sized fits all box. However, I truly enjoy cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and existential modalities. Additionally, it is my belief that art, music, animals, and nature are some of the best methods for healing. I want to you feel comfortable and safe with me as we explore more of who you are and discover how we can make positive changes in your life, together.

A little about myself: I’ve lived in various parts of Washington my whole life with brief stints in California and Oregon. I did my undergraduate studies at Western Washington University and studied Sociology and Psychology. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I have worked primarily in substance abuse, which go hand in hand with trauma and co-occurring disorders. I have also been a hairstylist for many years, which surprisingly coincides with mental health in a lot of ways. I have always been drawn to why people are the way they are, and I believe it is our formative years as youngsters that shape a lot of who we are today. Trauma is my passion because it seems to be a part of everyone’s life more often than not and can impact so many aspects of our lives. We are all just trying to survive and sometimes we need help from each other to get through life’s complexities.

I have two black cats, Jack and Atty, who are my fur children. I love true crime, books, art supplies, creating art, warm beds (I have a heated and weighted blanket on my bed), tea, and a ridiculous collection of mugs...for the tea. I love going on adventures just as much as I love being home with a good book or movie or in my warm bed. In my free time, I tend to do a lot of art projects involving painting and mixed media, watching the discovery channel, and/or scrolling through Pinterest. I look forward to working with you and creating a meaningful and authentic relationship as we engage in this learning experience together.
